The selection of the St Lucie County Youth Scholarships & St Lucie County Fair Association Scholarships are made by the IRSC Scholarship and Loan Committee.
OFFERINGS INCLUDE:
1. St Lucie County Fair Youth Scholarship Fund (Indian River State College - IRSC)In order to qualify, applicant must have participated in 4-H or FFA and be actively involved with the St Lucie County Fair.
Applications may be obtained from the FINANCIAL AID Office at IRSC and returned to that same office with a Fair Association Form (Which may be obtained from the Fair office. 772-464-2910)
The time to pick-up and turn-in completed applications is Oct 1 to Jan 3.
Pick-up & Turn-in your applications to the Financial Aid Office at IRSC before the deadline.
*Recipients of scholarships will be notified directly from IRSC.
- Scholarship amount: $1000. (3 given each year)
- Deadline: Jan 3rd
- GPA minimum 2.5
Basis for Selection:
- 50% Activity in 4-H or FFA & the St Lucie County Fair
- 25% Grade Point Average
- 25% Financial Need
*Scholarship length : 1 year
*Scholarship Renewal: YES. Must re-apply within year of first award.
*Payouts: Checks are paid to the institution upon receipt of "Proof of Enrollment".
**Student NOT restricted to go to IRSC. It's your choice, but approved by IRSC.
2. St Lucie County Fair Association (St Lucie County Education Foundation)Open to any a 4-H member, FFA, or public General Exhibitor that has entered in competitive areas such as animals, baking, art, photography, arts & crafts etc.
*Scholarship amount: $1000. (3 given each year)
The time to pick-up and turn-in completed applications is Jan 1 to Mid Mar, through online application found at
www.efslc.org Basis for Selection:
- Activity in 4-H or FFA & the St Lucie County Fair
- GPA minimum 2.5
- Financial Need
*Scholarship length : 1 year
*Scholarship Renewal: NO.
*Payouts: Checks are paid to the institution upon receipt of "Proof of Enrollment".
Checks will be presented at the Education Foundation Gala at Ft Pierce Central HS on May 2nd.
Scholarships are valid at any college, tech or trade school.
3. Fair Queen Scholarship$1000 scholarship paid to the reigning Queen upon "Proof of Enrollment". Must be used within 2 years of high school graduation.
Scholarships are valid at any college, tech or trade school, or for any other use (computers, books etc) without restrictions.
